Being not obliged to swear in words allegiance to any Master; Wherever the Storm drags me, I am turned in as a guest. (Horace’s Epistle to Maecenas)

This is a transcript of the original video linked below. It is edited to reflect the needs of the reader and slightly updated. Two more pieces are planned to complete the ‘For Reality’ series. (As of 13th February I have not completed them but I have written a series interlude to be published shortly – Synchrorealsim, or For Reality (An Interlude))
Prelude: The bearable lightness of Autohoaxing.
As much as autohoaxing is derided, I am finding it to be a profitable path to sanity.
I sit here typing on a beautiful spring day; the sun is shining; I have just fed the birds outside. I’m about to go for a walk.
Nothing in nature seems to be frightened of the ‘Coronavirus’, so why the hell should I be? Only man shudders in fear at such things because he downloads fear programs from the telescreen.
The boy has cried wolf too many times. Logically this does not disprove the claims of the authorities. But life cannot be lived purely within the bounds of logic. Logic is a tool which can be used for defence or attack, but can live always in the fray? Life must be lived sanely, and in my opinion, to live sanely the wild claims of the telescreen should be autohoaxed, whilst remembering that the day may come when the wolf is truly at the door.
Some fear is natural and puts the creature into a useful short term ‘fight or flight’ response. However, the artificial long term fear states that the telescreen creates will, in my opinion, cause much more harm than any biological virus.
It is not the coronavirus that is pushing people to beg for a one-world authoritarian government. It is the fear states that the masses are living in. Autohoaxing is thus a preventative tool for that which reasonable conspiracy minded folk fear.
I made a video expounding on my thoughts on the matter which later got taken down from Youtube. It is now available here:
A prophylactic and cure were offered for what I called the CoronaMINDvirus. Many people have told me that they found it beneficial.
The true autobelievers got triggered which set me thinking.
The Realology Pathology, or for Reality Part Two.
“Today’s realologists have substituted maps for the terrain, and they wander off through model after model, and eventually build a structure which has no relation to reality. ”
Adapted from the supposed quote by the supposed Tesla.
The following is a long quote from the Physicist Prof. Andrei Linde. I believe it to be a good prophylactic for the realology pathology. AIn the quote, any of your beloved models may be substituted for matter or the material world.
Let us remember that our knowledge of the world begins not with matter but with perceptions. I know for sure that my pain exists, my “green” exists, and my “sweet” exists. I do not need any proof of their existence, because these events are a part of me; everything else is a theory. Later we find out that our perceptions obey some laws, which can most conveniently be formulated if we assume that there is some underlying reality beyond our perceptions. This model of a material world obeying laws of physics is so successful that soon we forget about our starting point and say that matter is the only reality, and perceptions are only helpful for its description. This assumption is almost as natural (and maybe as false) as our previous assumption that space is only a mathematical tool for the description of matter. But in fact, we are substituting the reality of our feelings by a successful working theory of an independently existing material world. And the theory is so successful that we almost never think about its limitations until we must address some really deep issues, which do not fit into our model of reality.”
Professor Andrei Linde. Quoted in “The idea of the World”, B Kastrup.
Or in short, the map is not the terrain. Gosh that would have saved a bit of time.
We live in a very religious age. Generally people think of religion as some sort of belief in a god or the gods. It is commonly believed that Man has gradually moved from a religious age to a secular age. I suggest to you that no such thing has happened. The Emperor may have changed his clothes, but for those with eyes to see, he is still naked.
Autobelief in the authorities is the base script running in the mind of the realologist. And borrowing from the style of Lesta Nediam, how quickly does their autobelief complete the magic trick by filling in all the gaps of authority via their previous programming.
To such a degree that anyone of a sceptical bent is required to carry the burden of proof
If a man with letters after his name tells them that we have moved from a controlling religious age to a free secular age, the realologists will eat it up without noticing the reality around them.
Oh yes, yes, in the past we had dogmas and doctrines, taboos, witch hunts and religious censorship but those days are gone now.
Religion is said to come from the Latin religare – or to bind. I suppose most would understand this something like the following: In his religious beliefs, Man is bound to a god and as a side effect to the ruling religious authorities and the herd.
I would say that man binds himself to models and hence to the ruling authorities and the herd. Realology is the modern flourishing of herd religion and its effects are as pernicious as any supposedly ancient faith.
Realology is a fundamentalist, literal religion based upon the worship of the map and disdain for the terrain.
It is a platonic true world religion where the metaphor is substituted for the real and then labelled truth.
The ‘real’ of the term realology is ironic. In fact realologists reject the real.
Perhaps, like Nietzsche has told us elsewhere, out for fear and boredom with his own individual reality and models, he retreats into the herd and its necessary authorities. (see The Truth & Lie System in the light of Nietzsche.)
To bastardise the fictional Tesla, Today’s realologists have substituted maps for the terrain, and they wander off through model after model, and eventually build a structure that has no relation to reality.
The religion of realology is the prisca theologia of metaphysicians, atheists, theists, agnostics, scientists, creationists, idealists, materialists, and autobelievers.
Realologists are not named realologists because they study the real world of phenomena, but because they retreat into the simulated world of models and pretend that these are the terrain of reality. Hence they think that their models are the terrain of reality, and that this reality is a simulation. Whatever simulation theory could mean apart from projecting the lesser on to the greater and then forgetting that this is what one has done, I do not know.
Realology is part of the age-old escape from reality from which springs forth its two most famous brothers, materialism and theism.
The fundamentalism of realology is the source of Man’s supposed chains. The Platonic hoax is a typical but often unrecognised child of realology.
To accept the parable you must believe that you have been in chains since your childhood and that there exists a true world elsewhere. A world where the models, or Platonic Ideas, are the terrain.
From my own experience, I think that this allegory is a useful model at some stage of realology deprogramming. Despite this, I suggest that at some point, like all models, the Platonic Cave allegory must be laid down. It is not the allegory itself that is the problem, but the relationship of the realologist to it.
I have found benefit from some interpretations of Plato’s Cave and despite the beauty that the later part of the story describes. It is not that I reject the allegory so much, but the realologist interpretation, I suppose.
Even then, perhaps Man did put on some chains in childhood through his realology programming, but I suggest that these chains were your map/terrain conflation. Nothing more is required than to stop believing that your maps are the terrain and you will see that in reality, there were never any chains and no cave either.
Perhaps realology is the most pernicious disease known to Man. Although perhaps tomorrow I will think differently. Like most so-called viral diseases the model is derived from its symptoms.
Realology’s primary symptoms are both chronic and acute.
The world of mass media is saturated with fear porn, and because of this, the chronic effects of realology include a long term anxious state, where the sufferer is in a protracted ‘fight or flight’ response state. The fight or flight response is a natural acute reaction to certain stimuli. However, if prolonged, I suggest that this chronic state could be the cause of much disease.
Chronic symptoms spring forth from the constant triggering of acute symptoms by the perpetual fear porn based news cycle. The sufferers are like chaff in the wind, blown this way and that by every hoaxed event. They may be seen in the wild, losing their minds on r/conspiracy.
The acute symptoms in a pathological realologist, may also be triggered by an encounter with a man who does not submit to the fallacious claims of authority and the herd.
In the these encounters the sceptical realist will find empirical evidence for the scripts running in the realologist’s mind and the automatic responses that will spring forth from his lips.
Another diagnostic symptom for Realology, is the demand that the sceptical-realist submits to the models of authority figures and the herd. The sufferer demands censorship, withdrawal of platform, or that the sceptical-realist confesses their sins of disbelief. Somehow the sceptical-realist is inhibiting the progress of the herd through his heretical views. The sceptical-realist is labelled a shill, and he is supposedly trying to lead people away from the truth by deliberate misinformation e.g.
An encounter with a sceptical-realist triggers an acute emotional response in the realologist and insults will be hurled in all directions.
Despite taking many forms, in the West, realology’s most common form is currently a post-Christian, humanistic, liberal, scientific materialism.
God is worshipped in the form of the state. Without the state all things are permitted. The state is required to mandate the new morality otherwise people would think, say and do whatever they want. Fear of punishment is required to keep people in check – the secular hell.
The state-god has its realologist priesthood. The unthinking masses will unquestioningly accept whatever map/terrain conflated doctrines that are uttered from their mouths. They are awe-struck by the religious garb of white flowing coats. The secular priesthood have their altar tables filled with holy items such as electron microscopes. They have their healing holy communion of antidepressants and vaccines. These liturgical symbols help the realologist to magically fill in the gaps.
Realogy has its space-heaven, a true world where the herd dreams of the masses can be manifest in some future age. The priesthood and their holy telescopes divine the literal face of god from their heavenly models.
The realologists have their Creation Myths of the Big Bang and Darwinsim.
The realologists have their apocalyptic age of climate change, with floods, fire from heaven, and viral-plagues.
These plagues will turn man back in repentance from his wicked engagement with the real world of phenomena and back to the realologist dream of one world under the god of the state.
A millennial era of peace will spring forth through the one world technocracy. The penitential masses will rejoice as the the realology boot smashes their faces as they atone for their sinful love of the real.
After the millennial reign of realology peace, the Sun of God will return to signal the end of this realm, as he swells up to encompass the earth and burn up the sinful real world in a ball of fire. Only the realology elect will have escaped the inferno by their rapture into the heavenly realm.
To sum up, realologists are named such, not because they worship the real, but because they worship the map which they idolise as the real. Through their worship, they pathologically fantasise that their models are the same as phenomenological reality i.e. the terrain.
Theists are named theists not because they worship god, but because they pathologically fantasise that their models about God have anything to do with the Mystery of Being.
Atheistic materialism is one more form of the realology cult, where the shadowy world of matter, or even superstrings if you will, are fantasised having anything to do with reality.
None of these things exist in the world of phenomenal reality. Nor do they have the slightest thing whatsoever to do with reality as it is in itself.
The Map is not the terrain.
As someone who tries to practise this insight, I sometimes think of myself as a sceptical-realist. But what I mean by real depends! I try to practice this because, fundamentally, what else can keep you from being drawn from reality into illusion. Tomorrow I might think myself something different.
To finish I wish to repeat the quote from Prof Linde. There is much there that a second reading might draw out. Matter in this quote can be replaced with any one of your precious models.
And remember an equation will never be the taste of a strawberry, and despite its usefulness as a tool, the world is not a hammer.
Let us remember that our knowledge of the world begins not with matter but with perceptions. I know for sure that my pain exists, my “green” exists, and my “sweet” exists. I do not need any proof of their existence, because these events are a part of me; everything else is a theory.
